Terroir

Podere Le Sante Marie lies among the hills of Montalcino. Its guestrooms overlook the surrounding landscape, while the estate’s vineyard narrative presents nature—not the calendar—as the force that sets the rhythm of work.

Winemaking

Free vineyard ecosystemPlants coexist with spontaneous herbs, flowers, microorganisms and insects that are left free and undisturbed.
Minimal interferenceNature is allowed to direct much of the process, with human interference kept as limited as possible.
Non-invasive cellar workWine takes shape in the cellar without invasive interventions.
Vintage expressionEach vintage is treated as having its own voice and each harvest as telling a different story.
Individual tank expressionEvery tank is allowed to retain its own expression rather than being forced into uniformity.

The vineyard approach is based on allowing plants and their surrounding ecosystem considerable freedom. Spontaneous herbs, flowers, microorganisms and insects are left undisturbed, with balance presented as the guiding principle. Human interference is kept to a minimum, allowing nature to determine much of the vineyard’s rhythm and development.

The cellar follows the same low-intervention principle applied in the vineyards. Wine is allowed to take shape without invasive intervention, with identity, spontaneity and vitality treated as central objectives. Individual vintages are not forced into a uniform model: each harvest is understood to have its own voice, and every tank is allowed its own expression. The overall stylistic aim is energy, purity of fruit, elegant structure and concentration without heaviness.

Philosophy

Trusting nature

The estate’s declared vision begins with trust in nature. Work in both vineyard and cellar is conceived around restraint: nature is given room to act, while intervention is kept to a minimum.

Balance in the vineyard

Plants, wild herbs, flowers, microorganisms and insects are treated as participants in the vineyard ecosystem. Leaving them free and undisturbed is associated with the pursuit of balance.

Identity in the cellar

The cellar philosophy prioritizes wine identity, spontaneity and vitality. Variations among vintages, harvests and individual tanks are accepted as meaningful expressions rather than irregularities to be eliminated. Each bottle is intended to carry the essence of its vintage.

Stylistic objective

The desired profile combines energy, pure fruit, elegant structure and concentration without heaviness.
