About this wine
Vineyard and terroir
The fruit comes from Colombaia’s vineyards in Tuscany. The vines surround a 16th-century farmhouse in Colle di Val d’Elsa at 220 m above sea level, rooted in fossil-rich clay soils. They form part of a mixed ecosystem of vines, animals, vegetables, fruit and nut trees. Afternoon sea breezes cool the soil, contributing depth and a saline, mineral character to the grapes.
Grapes
Only selected, fully ripe fruit is used.
Vinification
The grapes are harvested entirely by hand, then pressed and fermented spontaneously with native yeasts in stainless-steel tanks. The wine is bottled without added sulfites.
Ageing
It rests in bottle for one year.
Label / history
