About this wine
Vineyard and terroir
The Sagrantino comes from Gualdo Cattaneo in the province of Perugia.
Grapes
100% Sagrantino.
Vinification
Fermentation and maceration take place at a controlled 24–28°C, with daily pumping over and délestage. Once alcoholic fermentation is complete, maceration continues at 29°C. After racking, the wine is transferred to French oak barrels.
Ageing
The production rules require 37 months of total ageing, including 12 months in wood and at least four months in bottle. Memoira spends 12 months in French oak, followed by extended maturation in stainless-steel tanks and bottle.
Tasting profile
Powerful, concentrated and built for longevity, with an almost impenetrable color. The broad, intense aroma combines red fruit with refined spicy nuances. The palate is decisive and strong, with pronounced tannic concentration, particularly in youth.
Serving and pairing
Serve at 18°C in a large glass. Pair with roasted red meats, rich or elaborate dishes, and aged cheeses.
Label / history
Memoira was the estate’s first wine made from Sagrantino and is presented as a key expression of Còlpetrone’s history.
