About this wine

Vineyard and terroir

The grapes originate in Marano di Valpolicella, Sant’Ambrogio di Valpolicella and San Pietro in Cariano.

Grapes

Corvina, Corvinone and Rondinella with other local varieties: Molinara, Dindarella and Croatina. Only the best bunches are selected for drying.

Vinification

Harvest is by hand from mid-September. The selected grapes undergo appassimento for three months on special racks at ambient temperature with forced ventilation. Fermentation and maceration on the skins last 50 days.

Ageing

The wine matures for 24 months in barriques, tonneaux and larger barrels, followed by six months in bottle.

Technical data

Alcohol: 15.5% vol. Bottle format: 750 ml.

Tasting profile

Garnet red, with intense aromas of cherries macerated in alcohol, wild berries and spices. The palate is full, dry and velvety.

Serving and pairing

Uncork a few hours in advance and serve at 18–20 °C.
