About this wine

Vineyard and terroir

The fruit comes from the Cru Baudana and Serralunga d’Alba plots, situated at 320–350 m on clay soils. The vines average 25 years of age.

Vinification

Fermentation and skin maceration take place over 30 days in dedicated fermentation columns.

Ageing

The wine ages for 26 months in French oak barriques: 30% new and 70% previously used once. It then matures for a further two years in the winery’s cool cellars after bottling.

Label / history

“Aeroplan Servaj” was the nickname given to Domenico Clerico by his father. In the local dialect it means “Crazy Airplane,” referring to someone unable to sit still. Clerico named the wine Aeroplanservaj in memory of his late father. No more than 6,000 standard bottles are released.
