About this wine
Vineyard and terroir
The grapes grow in Bolgheri, along the Tyrrhenian coast, on sandy loam soil.
Vinification
In 2021, the grapes were harvested fully ripe in September and carefully selected in the vineyard. The pressed must underwent static settling at 10 °C, followed by fermentation with selected yeasts at 18–20 °C.
Ageing
The wine aged for five months in stainless steel tanks.
Label / history
The wine takes its name from the blond Marquis Obizzo d’Este, who appears in Dante Alighieri’s Divine Comedy.
