About this wine
Vinification
Fully ripe grapes are harvested in late September and carefully sorted. Vinification takes place in temperature-controlled stainless-steel vats, with a long maceration, daily pumping over and malolactic fermentation.
Ageing
The wine matures for 24 months in French oak barrels, half new and half one year old, followed by 12 months in bottle.
Label / history
The name reflects the idea that the future cannot flourish without the past, just as a new seed cannot grow without the earth. It evokes looking back at what has been left behind while looking ahead towards new horizons. Production of the 2016 vintage was limited to 1,900 bottles.
