About this wine
Vineyard and terroir
The grapes come from Ronc di Juri, where the vineyard has marl soils. The estate increased the vineyards’ planting density severalfold and set a specific target weight for each bunch.
Vinification
The grapes are harvested, selected and sorted entirely by hand. They undergo a long, gentle pressing, with dry ice used for cooling to preserve their aromas. Fermentation takes place in barriques that are either new or one year old, comprising 95% French oak and 5% American oak.
Ageing
The wine ages for 10 months in the same mixture of new and one-year-old French and American oak barriques.
Tasting profile
The marl soils contribute a fruity character. Ageing develops spicy and creamy notes.
Label / history
In the mid-20th century, the Dorigo family acquired two previously little-noticed vineyards. The family combined their traditions and history with modern technology, investing in equipment for vineyard work, new fermentation barriques and reed mats for drying grapes.
