About this wine
Vineyard and terroir
The Pinot Nero is grown in vineyards in Oltrepò Pavese, Lombardy, at 130 metres above sea level.
Grapes
The blend includes no more than 10% other red grape varieties.
Vinification
The grapes are harvested in late September and vinified in the traditional Burgundian manner in cone-shaped wooden vats, with bâtonnage during fermentation.
Ageing
The wine ages for nine months.
Tasting profile
Pleasant and elegant, with a composed character.
Label / history
The imaginary “Gentleman” is presented as the alter ego of winemaker Marco Bernabei. Ferro 13 uses this playful personification to convey the character of its wines. The creators paired this wine with Coldplay’s “A Sky Full of Stars” and the film Casablanca.
