Vineyard and terroir
The grapes grow in coastal vineyards near Syracuse, Sicily, at an altitude of 50 m.
Vinification
The grapes are harvested in September. Pre-fermentation maceration is followed by fermentation.
Ageing
The wine ages for six months in stainless-steel tanks, preserving a fresh, delicate bouquet.
Tasting profile
The bouquet is fresh and delicate. The wine has a strong, determined character.
Label / history
“Nerd” is presented as the alter ego of Ferro 13 owner Alberto Burato, whose mind is characterised as analytical. The English name refers to the stereotype of someone deeply absorbed in intellectual pursuits. Ferro 13 calls it its “intellectual wine” and pairs its personality with Pink Floyd’s “Echoes” and the film The Matrix.
