About this wine
Vineyard and terroir
Sgarzon comes from the estate-owned 2.5 ha Vigneto Sgarzon in Mezzolombardo, at the heart of the Campo Rotaliano. The site has alluvial soil dominated by sand and a cooler local climate. Its particularly vigorous vines give Teroldego an expression marked by unusual freshness.
Grapes
Teroldego.
Vinification
The wine ferments and remains with its skins for 8 months in tinajas—earthenware amphorae made in Villarrobledo, Spain. Extended contact in clay preserves and amplifies the vineyard’s distinctive character.
Ageing
The 8-month period in tinajas serves as both fermentation and maturation, with the wine remaining on its skins throughout.
Technical data
Annual production is approximately 10,000 bottles.
Tasting profile
The defining sensory characteristic is an unusual freshness within the Teroldego expression.
Label / history
