About this wine
Vineyard and terroir
The vineyards were selected following studies of soil composition intended to match each variety with suitable sites.
Vinification
Fermentation takes place in stainless-steel tanks for 15 days at 18 °C.
Ageing
The wine rests on its lees for eight months in 225 L steel tanks.
Label / history
Kris originated as a collaboration between Leonardo LoCascio and Franz Haas. Its labels were designed by the Italian Cubist artist Riccardo Schweizer. Recurring motifs include a golden sphere symbolizing the Italian sun's role in ripening the grapes, a hand representing human involvement in winemaking, and lips forming a kiss. Images of molecules and strands of grape DNA evoke the scientific aspect of winemaking.
