About this wine
Vineyard and terroir
The Barbera comes from the Bussia subzone of Monforte d'Alba in Piedmont. The vineyard covers 2.5 hectares on west-facing hills at 300 metres above sea level. The vines are 30 years old on average.
Vinification
The grapes are harvested by hand in October and carefully selected. Fermentation is traditional, lasting 10 days in stainless steel vats on the skins, without added yeast.
Ageing
The wine rests for 6 months in stainless steel tanks, then 6 months in Slavonian oak barrels.
Tasting profile
Classic aromas and a fresh, juicy taste. The structure is firm, and over several years of keeping the taste softens considerably.
