About this wine
Vineyard and terroir
The fruit comes from the Fagarè and San Polo di Piave estates in Veneto, where the vines grow on alluvial gravel soils. The vineyards are farmed organically.
Vinification
The bunches are hand-harvested during the first ten days of September and selected before a long, gentle whole-cluster pressing. Fermentation starts in concrete tanks and finishes in wooden vessels. The wine is bottled without filtration or fining.
Ageing
The wine remains on its lees in oak barrels until March of the following year. After bottling, it matures in the winery’s cellars for at least one further year.
Serving and pairing
The producer recommends a large wine glass.
Label / history
“Madre” means “mother” in Italian. The bottle design develops this theme: its blue shellac capsule matches the colour of Chiara’s mother’s eyes, while a 100% organic wraparound label bears a raised graphic symbol representing an embrace.
