About this wine
Grapes
Friulano, formerly known as Tokay and also called Tai, is native to Friuli-Venezia Giulia. Its name was changed following an application by Hungary to the European Union concerning its similarity to the name of Hungarian Tokay wine; the Italian grape and the Hungarian wine are distinct.
Vinification
The grapes are harvested in the middle ten days of September and cold-macerated for 6 hours. After gentle pressing, the must ferments with selected yeasts for 12 days at a constant 15 °C.
Ageing
The wine rests on its lees in stainless-steel tanks for 5 months, followed by 2 months in bottle.
Tasting profile
Delicate wildflower aromas lead to apple and peach notes on the palate. The wine has a compact structure and a light bitterness.
