About this wine
Vineyard and terroir
The grapes grow on the hilly Brenntal site at 220–250 m above sea level, in clay soils. Annual yields do not exceed 5,500 kg/ha.
Vinification
Temperature-controlled fermentation takes place in rotating steel tanks.
Ageing
The wine ages for 14 months in oak barrels, 50% of them new, before being blended in large oak barriques.
Label / history
Merlot was introduced to Alto Adige 130 years before the source description was written.
