About this wine

Vineyard and terroir

The fruit comes from an old vineyard with very low yields.

Ageing

After fermentation, one third of the wine rests for three months in American oak barrels on the fine lees, with regular bâtonnage. The remaining two thirds stay in stainless steel. Once blended, the wine spends a further 20 days in stainless-steel tanks.

Tasting profile

The wine is refined and multifaceted.

Label / history

The name “Favorosa” refers to Vittorio Emanuele II, the first king of unified Italy, and his favourite, La Bela Rosin, who later became his morganatic wife. The king gave her a large estate in the commune of Serralunga d’Alba, where the winery was located.

The label depicts two large berries, an allusion to La Bela Rosin’s curves, which the king was rumoured to have greatly admired.
