La Sala

1260\nThe estate now known as La Sala originated under the name Grande Terra Murata and belonged to the noble Giandonati family.\n\n### 1534\nThe land was sold first to Alessandro de' Medici, Grand Duke of Tuscany, and later to the Corsini family.\n\n### 1981–2014\nThe estate was owned by Laura Baronti, who worked with oenologist Gabriella Tani to make La Sala one of the most popular wineries in Chianti Classico.\n\n### Since 2014\nThe estate has been owned by Rossi Ferrini, who fulfilled a long-held dream of producing high-quality wines. The estate also makes olive oil.\n\n### Recent years\nSignificant investment has helped modernise the estate, improve the quality of its products and strengthen the brand's reputation.

The plots of La Sala lie between 150 and 350 metres above sea level.

Most of the estate's 32 ha of vineyards are part of Chianti Classico, on plots at 150–350 metres above sea level.

The estate also makes olive oil. In recent years, significant investment has helped modernise the estate, improve the quality of its products and strengthen the brand's reputation.

Rossi Ferrini took ownership in 2014 to fulfil a long-held dream of producing high-quality wines.
