About this wine
Vineyard and terroir
The organically farmed fruit comes from the estate’s vineyards in Abruzzo. The microclimate is shaped by the Adriatic Sea and the Apennine Mountains, while the soils contain abundant minerals, limestone and clay. The vines are 25 years old on average.
Vinification
The grapes are harvested by hand, destemmed and crushed, then macerated on their skins overnight. After gentle pressing, the juice ferments with native yeasts in stainless-steel tanks without temperature control.
Ageing
The wine remains in the same stainless-steel tanks for six months. It is bottled without added sulfur, filtration or fining. A small amount of residual sulfur dioxide remains.
Tasting profile
Aromatic, lively and easy-drinking, with bright aromatics and fresh acidity.
Vintage notes
In 2020, Covid-related restrictions made the vintage difficult in Abruzzo and across Italy. A mild winter was followed by a cool spring, and frequent rain in May slowed the growing cycle. The summer was hot and dry, bringing the grapes to phenolic ripeness, while cool nights preserved their acidity and bright aromatic profile. The fruit remained in excellent condition, although yields were lower than usual.
