About this wine

Vineyard and terroir

Ricciotto is produced from hillside vineyards at Impruneta, Florence, with a south-western exposure and clay-shale soil. The technical sheet gives an altitude of 200 m, while the fuller wine profile gives 250 m.

Grapes

100% Sangiovese.

Vinification

The grapes are vinified in stainless-steel tanks using Governo all’uso Toscano. Harvest timing is given as late September in the technical sheet and the first ten days of October in the fuller wine profile.

Ageing

The fuller wine profile specifies six months in second-use oak barriques followed by at least six months in bottle.

Technical data

Alcohol: approximately 13.50%.

Tasting profile

Ruby red with light garnet nuances. The aroma is distinctly spicy and persistently complex. The palate shows a clear contrast between acidity and roundness, with intense flavours and a persistent finish.

Serving and pairing

Serve at 18–19°C. Pair with red-meat dishes, mushrooms and semi-aged cheeses.
