About this wine
Vineyard and terroir
The grapes come from hillside vineyards in Impruneta, Florence, at 250 metres above sea level. The exposure is south-west and the soil is clay schist.
Grapes
Predominantly Sangiovese with various complementary varieties.
Vinification
The harvest takes place during the first ten days of October. Fermentation is carried out in stainless-steel tanks.
Technical data
Alcohol: approximately 13.5%.
Tasting profile
Deep, intense ruby red with red hues. The broad, complex bouquet combines red fruit with woody nuances and spicy notes of cinnamon and vanilla. Structured, soft, fleshy and full-bodied on the palate, it is elegant and persistent, with a fruity aftertaste enlivened by fresh acidic tension.
Serving and pairing
Serve at 18–19 °C. Pair with red-meat dishes, mushrooms and mature dry cheeses.
