Vineyard and terroir
The production area is Greve in Chianti. The vineyards occupy hilly terrain at 300 m above sea level, with south-west exposure and clay-schist soils.
Grapes
Predominantly Sangiovese.
Ageing
The wine matures for 30 months. The type and capacity of the ageing vessels are not specified.
Technical data
Harvest takes place during the first ten days of October. Alcohol is approximately 14.5%.
Tasting profile
Ruby red with lightly garnet nuances. The broad, sweet-fruited bouquet combines ripe fruit with evident spice and woodland-floor notes. The palate has delicate, well-developed tannins, a full mid-palate and good acidic tension, followed by a persistent fruity aftertaste. It is characterised by substantial longevity.
Serving and pairing
Serve at 18–19°C. Pair with elaborate red-meat dishes, mushrooms, pâtés and mature cheeses.
