About this wine

Vineyard and terroir

The grapes grow in clay and silt soils containing calcareous marl. The Northern Italian climate supports fresh, aromatic fruit.

Grapes

The blend contains at least 85% Barbera, supplemented by small proportions of Croatina, Merlot and Cabernet Sauvignon, which add complexity and distinctive character.

Vinification

The grapes are mechanically harvested, destemmed and crushed. Skin maceration is followed by temperature-controlled fermentation with selected yeasts. Natural secondary fermentation takes place in an autoclave at 20 °C. Numerous analytical checks are conducted throughout production.

Ageing

The wine ages in stainless-steel tanks.

Tasting profile

Rich and savoury in character, the wine is elegant, playful and intriguing, with fresh, aromatic fruit.
