About this wine

Vineyard and terroir

The Barbera comes from a 2-hectare vineyard in the municipality of Roddino. Planted in 2000 at 420 metres above sea level, the site has a south-west exposure and limestone-clay soil. Yields are 5,000–5,500 kg per hectare.

Grapes

100% Barbera.

Vinification

Vinification takes place in temperature-controlled stainless-steel tanks over approximately 15–18 days.

Ageing

The wine matures traditionally for 12 months in 25 hl Slavonian oak casks.

Technical data

Annual production is approximately 10,000 bottles. The denomination is Barbera d’Alba DOC Superiore.

Tasting profile

Intense ruby red in colour. The elegant bouquet balances oak-derived spice with woodland berries. On the palate, lively yet well-balanced acidity defines an enveloping, notably full-bodied wine.
