About this wine

Vineyard and terroir

Barolo DOCG Margheria comes from the 1.5-hectare MGA Margheria vineyard in the municipality of Serralunga d’Alba. The site occupies a gentle hillside at 340 metres above sea level, with southern exposure and limestone-clay soil. Planted in 1959, its vines are described as almost 70 years old. Yield is 5,000–5,500 kg per hectare, and production amounts to approximately 7,000 bottles.

Margheria is associated with an elegant, refined expression of Serralunga. The old vines produce a classic Barolo that can begin expressing itself during the first years after ageing.

Grapes

100% Nebbiolo.

Vinification

Vinification takes place in temperature-controlled stainless-steel tanks for approximately 18–20 days.

Ageing

The wine follows a traditional maturation regimen: 24 months in 25 hl Slavonian oak casks.
