About this wine
Vineyard and terroir
The Primitivo was grown on soils that were not red, resulting in less structure. Targeted, progressive leaf removal was used to preserve and often increase acidity in the must, which Nico Mangione regarded as a weakness in Apulian wines.
Vinification
Maceration was short and extraction gentle. Pump-overs were more frequent at the beginning of fermentation, followed by occasional punch-downs toward its end. The approach retained acidity while giving the wine both depth and drinkability.
Tasting profile
Rich, enveloping and generous, with restrained structure, freshness and a Mediterranean character.
Label / history
This was Nico Mangione’s first wine. Its name means “one of us” and expresses belonging to a country and region, together with their history and winemaking traditions.
