About this wine
Grapes
Verdeca is found almost exclusively in Puglia, particularly around Taranto and in a small part of Lecce. The variety is known for its freshness, and its wines never reach high alcohol levels. In the last century it was used only in blends and to make sweet wines and vermouths. In this wine Nico Mangione explores its potential as a varietal wine.
Vinification
Nico Mangione macerated the wine for 11 days, longer than usual.
Ageing
The wine aged in steel tanks.
Tasting profile
Fresh in taste, with a fragrant, fruity aroma. By the time of release it had developed a deeper orange colour and greater depth while remaining fresh and easy to drink.
Label / history
Annual production is limited to 3,000 bottles.
