About this wine
Vineyard and terroir
The Grillo fruit came from vineyards in Contrada Samperi, Marsala, planted between 1970 and 1996.
Vinification
The grapes were harvested by hand in the second half of September and gently pressed. The must settled naturally before fermenting at room temperature in oak and chestnut barrels. A portion of the wine was used to prepare mistella to an old recipe by combining must with grape spirit, then added back to the wine.
Ageing
The wine matured for 20 years in oak barrels of various sizes.
