About this wine
Vinification
At least 50% of the harvest is dried in the August sun in designated drying areas; the remainder is dried at the winery. Once fermentation has begun, raisined grapes are added to the must and fermentation continues with them for up to three months, until the intended balance of alcohol and residual sugar is reached.
Ageing
The wine rests for six months in stainless-steel tanks, followed by further ageing in old French oak barriques.
Tasting profile
Young, fresh and fruit-forward, with less complexity and structure than traditional Bukkuram.
Label / history
The name “Sole d’Agosto”, meaning “August sun”, refers to the importance of dry, sunny August weather, when the grapes begin to dry.
