About this wine
Vineyard and terroir
The grapes come from a 3 ha vineyard owned by Marziano Abbona in Castelletto, in the province of Alessandria, Piedmont. The vines average 34 years of age and are planted at a density of 5,000 vines per hectare. The vineyard produces around 70 quintals of grapes annually.
Vinification
Fermentation takes place in rotary fermenters.
Ageing
The wine spends one year in 500 L vessels, followed by two years in 30 hL oak barrels.
Label / history
First produced in 1996, Pressenda has an annual production of around 19,000 bottles, depending on the vintage.
