About this wine

Vineyard and terroir

The grapes grow in the Poderi del Bello Ovile vineyard in the commune of Val d’Orcia, at 110 m above sea level.

Vinification

Each variety is fermented separately in stainless-steel tanks for 15 days at 18–24 °C. Malolactic fermentation follows.

Ageing

The wine ages with its lees for 12 months in French oak barrels: 50% new, 25% previously used and 25% in their third year of use.

Label / history

Masi has worked with the Serego Alighieri estate for almost forty years. The two later acquired the Poderi del Bello Ovile vineyard jointly, symbolising the Alighieri family’s return to its historical roots in Tuscany. The Serego Alighieri estate has belonged to descendants of Dante since 1353.
