About this wine

Vineyard and terroir

The fruit comes from the southwest-facing Vaio vineyard, situated in a small natural valley within the Amarone della Valpolicella Classico area. The vines grow at 230–265 m on red soils rich in humus, limestone and clay.

Grapes

The Serego Alighieri clone is used.

Vinification

The grapes are partially dried using natural ventilation, losing approximately 40% of their weight. Fermentation lasts 48 days in large Slavonian oak casks and is followed by malolactic fermentation.

Ageing

The wine matures for three years in oak casks, followed by four months in 600-litre cherrywood casks and five months in bottle.

Tasting profile

Elegant and distinctive.

Label / history

Masi has worked with the Serego Alighieri estate for almost 40 years. Its land has belonged to descendants of Dante since 1353.
