About this wine
Vineyard and terroir
The organically farmed fruit comes from the producer’s vineyards in Langhe, a hilly area east of the Tanaro River and south of Alba, in the province of Cuneo, Piedmont. Vineyard management is intended to preserve the natural balance among the soil, climate and vines.
Vinification
The grapes are harvested by hand in early October. Fermentation is conducted at a strictly controlled temperature using only the natural yeasts present on the grape skins. Frequent pump-overs extract colour and tannins. The wine is generally bottled without filtration.
Ageing
The wine rests on its fine lees for approximately 12 months in large Slavonian oak casks, followed by a further six months in bottle.
Tasting profile
Floral aromas lead to delicate red-cherry notes on the palate.
