About this wine
Vineyard and terroir
The grapes come from the estate’s vineyards near Canale d’Alba, at an altitude of 280–330 metres.
Vinification
The grapes are harvested by hand in mid-September.
Ageing
The wine matures for eight months in stainless-steel tanks.
Label / history
Matteo Correggia took over the family estate at the age of 23, redirected it from mixed farming to winemaking and bottled his first vintage two years later. He replaced its previous production, expanded the vineyards from 8 to 20 hectares and modernised the cellars. After his death in an accident in 2001, his wife, Ornella Costa, took over the company. The winery produces approximately 100,000 bottles annually.
An asteroid discovered in 1984 was named Matteo Correggia; its dedication identifies him as Matteo Correggia (1961–2001), a resident of Roero in Piedmont.
