About this wine
Vineyard and terroir
The fruit comes from estate vineyards near Canale d’Alba in Roero. The sites face south and lie at 310 m above sea level, with 5,000 vines per hectare. The soil is given as 66% sand, 36% silt and 4% clay.
Vinification
The grapes are harvested by hand in late September. Skin maceration lasts six to eight days, with alcoholic fermentation in oak barriques.
Ageing
The wine matures for 18 months in wooden barrels, 60% of which are new.
Tasting profile
The bouquet is complex, while the flavour is bright and rich.
Label / history
Annual production is approximately 13,000 bottles.
