About this wine
Vineyard and terroir
The winery’s 100 ha of vineyards lie among the hills of Porto Pino in Sardinia, near the sea.
Vinification
The fruit is harvested from late August to early September. A portion undergoes cold maceration for 10–12 hours before fermentation at 12–14 °C. The wine then rests in stainless-steel tanks.
Ageing
After its time in stainless steel, the wine spends at least two months in bottle.
Label / history
In Sardinia and in Spanish, “Mesa” literally means a dining table; for the winery, the name also represents food, feasting, maternal love, simplicity and aromas. Cantina Mesa was founded by advertising designer Gavino Senna and Giuseppe Mele. Senna designed the motifs inspired by traditional Sardinian weaving that decorate both the winery’s white façade and every Cantina Mesa bottle.
