About this wine
Vineyard and terroir
Le Giuncare is a Castelli di Jesi Verdicchio Riserva DOCG Classico from Vigna dell’Imperatore in Arcevia. The vineyard lies at 350 metres above sea level on fresh clay soil and takes its name from a spring called Le Giuncare. Yields are 6,000 kg per hectare.
Grapes
100% Verdicchio.
Vinification
The grapes are picked manually in several passes beginning in the second half of October. Temperature-controlled vinification takes place in stainless-steel tanks, followed by bâtonnage in 7 hl oak casks.
Ageing
The wine matures for approximately 14 months in stainless-steel vats, followed by a further six months in bottle. Its indicated ageing horizon is 5–10 years or longer.
Tasting profile
Clear and intense straw yellow in appearance. The fine, well-defined bouquet combines concentrated tropical-fruit nuances with citrus notes. The palate is savoury, full-bodied and smooth, with ripe-fruit flavours, spicy nuances and mineral sensations. It is notably long, complex and structured for extended ageing.
Serving and pairing
Serve at 12°C.
