About this wine
Vineyard and terroir
The wine comes from the “Fossato” vineyard in the commune of Poggio San Marcello, at 200 metres above sea level. Its fresh clay soil has moderate fertility. The vines are Guyot trained and yield 7,000 kg per hectare.
Grapes
100% Verdicchio.
Vinification
The late harvest is carried out by hand in several passes during October. Fermentation takes place under temperature control in stainless-steel tanks.
Ageing
The wine remains on its fine lees in stainless steel for five months.
Tasting profile
Crystal clear and straw-coloured with greenish-gold highlights. The bouquet is intense and persistent, with ripe-fruit notes; the broader profile also includes tropical fruit and citrus. The palate is finely textured and structured, with flavours recalling sage and almond and a long, pleasant aftertaste.
Serving and pairing
Serve at 12°C. Its structure and intensity suit roast fish, fried dishes and white meats. Cellaring guidance is 3–10 years or longer.
