About this wine
Vineyard and terroir
The Lacrima comes from the “del Massone” vineyard in the commune of Morro d’Alba, at 120 metres above sea level. The site has medium-textured soil with good underlying fertility. Vines are trained using spur-pruned cordon and Guyot systems, with a yield of 10,000 kg per hectare.
Grapes
100% Lacrima, an indigenous Marche variety whose survival reaches back to the region’s medieval winegrowing tradition.
Vinification
The grapes are harvested by hand, normally during the final ten days of September. Traditional red-wine vinification includes maceration on the skins.
Ageing
Maturation takes place in stainless-steel tanks.
Tasting profile
Clear reddish-purple with ruby highlights. The aromatic profile is broad and markedly floral, with violet and rose preceding notes of small woodland berries. The palate is harmonious, delicate and persistent, combining berry character with a pleasantly spicy nuance.
Serving and pairing
Serve at 16°C. Pair with cured meats, white meats or fish soups.
