About this wine

Vineyard and terroir

Produced in Maremma Toscana at Tenuta Moraia.

Grapes

60% Cabernet Sauvignon and 40% Sangiovese.

Ageing

Matured for 18 months in French oak barriques. Half of the barrels are first-use and half second-use.

Technical data

Rosso Maremma Toscana Riserva DOC. Alcohol: 14% vol. Bottle format: 0.75 L.

Tasting profile

Deep ruby red. Aromas of myrtle and sour cherry are joined by cocoa and coffee. The palate emphasises the fruit, opening with a soft, velvety texture. Silky, elegant tannins carry the wine into a long, harmonious finish.

Serving and pairing

Serve at 16 °C. Pair with game or mature cheeses.

Label / history

The name evokes both the wine’s vermilion colour and the late hour of vespers, when the sun sets beyond the sea. It forms a thematic pair with Albus, Tenuta Moraia’s white Maremma Toscana Riserva, whose name and straw colour recall the first light of dawn.
