About this wine
Vineyard and terroir
The Refosco vines are 24 years old and grow on a gentle rise, sheltered from cold northern winds by a mountain ridge. The soils are Eocene marl and sandstone, which give wines that are aromatic and light yet also powerful and expressive. High planting density, mature vines and the continental climate keep yields naturally low, so the grapes have more concentrated flavours.
Vinification
The grapes are harvested in September and macerated at a controlled temperature of 27–30 °C. Fermentation takes place in stainless steel tanks. The wine is made only in the best vintages.
Ageing
The wine spends 12–24 months in large oak barrels.
Label / history
The estate follows sustainable farming principles, with great care for the land and the environment, and the label reflects this. The orange flower on it stands for beauty, purity and fragility, and for the force that lets a plant push through the soil. It also expresses the importance of the bond between people and nature.
