About this wine

Vineyard and terroir

The grapes come from the old vineyard at Poggetto, selected with care.

Vinification

The grapes are harvested by hand. Each variety is vinified separately, without added artificial yeast, to preserve its natural character.

Ageing

The wine goes into French oak barrels, where it undergoes malolactic fermentation and matures for at least 18 months. During this time it is racked several times to clarify it and prepare it for bottling. It is neither filtered nor fined, which keeps its sensory qualities intact.

Vintage notes

The description names the 2020 vintage but gives nothing about its weather.

Label / history

Piaggia's flagship red, presented as a modern take on Carmignano.
