About this wine

Grapes

90% Sangiovese and 10% Malvasia Nera.

Vinification

The grapes undergo crushing and destemming before fermentation.

Ageing

Histrio rests for 12 weeks in a special clay amphora. Clay occupies a middle ground between steel and oak: its porosity permits a measured exchange of oxygen, while its neutrality avoids adding flavours to the wine.

Technical data

Toscana IGT. Organic wine. Alcohol: 13.5% vol. Bottle format: 0.75 L.

Tasting profile

Ageing in clay supports a vivid red-fruit bouquet with a gentle mineral nuance. The palate combines softness, depth and elegance. Fresh acidity leads into a persistent finish recalling floral and fruit aromas.

Serving and pairing

Serve at 18 °C. Pair with red meats, game and aged cheeses.

Label / history

Histrio evokes the formative place of wine in the ancient Mediterranean. The project follows wine's historical path through the Middle East, Egypt, Greece and Italy, recalling the cultures, myths and trade that developed around it.
