About this wine
Vineyard and terroir
The vineyards occupy gentle, northeast-facing hills at 200–300 m above sea level. Limestone-rich soils containing small stones provide good drainage.
Vinification
The grapes are harvested by hand before fermentation.
Ageing
The wine matures for 18 months in barriques, followed by six months in bottle.
Label / history
The project began in 1995, after winemaker Pierangelo Piccini met artist Giuseppe Chiari in Florence. They set out to create a wine inspired by the idea that winemaking is an art.
