About this wine
Vineyard and terroir
The Dorilli vineyard is situated at 60 m above sea level. Its sandy soils consist mainly of red sands formed from limestone-rich marine terraces. Yields are limited to 1.5 kg of grapes per vine.
Grapes
The blend comprises 60% Nero d’Avola and 40% Frappato, both native varieties.
Vinification
Harvest begins on 20 September. The grapes are selected after picking, then undergo eight days of maceration and malolactic fermentation in stainless-steel tanks at 25 °C.
Tasting profile
Full-flavoured, with notes of cherry and strawberry.
Label / history
First produced in 2001 in the countryside of Dorilli. The 2011 vintage was bottled in April.
