Grapes
Negroamaro accounts for at least 85% of the blend, supplemented by other traditional red varieties.
Vinification
The grapes are harvested at full ripeness, and the must is vinified in stainless-steel tanks.
Ageing
Part of the wine matures in oak barriques.
Label / history
In 2010, Felice Mergè, drawing on the experience of his father Armando, purchased and renovated the former premises of the Municipal Cooperative of Erchie Producers, which had been established in 1949. He renamed the site “Masca del Tacco” and revived its winemaking operations with new facilities and production methods. The acquisition also expanded Poggio le Volpi’s vineyards in the areas of Veglie and Torricella.
