About this wine
Vineyard and terroir
The fruit comes from the “Crearo” vineyard, whose alluvial soils are fairly stony. The Pradio estate lies in the central part of Grave del Friuli. Heavy pruning and green harvesting are used to reduce yields substantially.
Grapes
The wine is made from selected grapes.
Vinification
The grapes are harvested in the first week of October and transported carefully to the crushing area. Fermentation lasts 12–15 days in temperature-controlled stainless-steel tanks, with periodic délestage, followed by malolactic fermentation.
Ageing
The wine matures for one year in American oak barriques, followed by four months in bottle.
Label / history
The wine takes its name from the “Crearo” vineyard. Chief winemaker Beppe Basi has managed the estate for 10 years.
