About this wine
Vineyard and terroir
The vines grow on alluvial, stony soils in the central Grave del Friuli area. Together with Friuli's distinctive microclimate, these soils shape the wine's original bouquet. The Pradio estate focuses mainly on refined single-varietal wines that reflect their terroir. The Cielo family works with modern vineyard methods, reducing yields significantly through severe pruning and green harvesting, to make the wines more elegant and balanced.
Vinification
The grapes are harvested at the very beginning of September, when they reach optimal ripeness while keeping their fresh character and gentle acidity. On arrival at the winery they are kept cool with dry ice for a cold maceration. Fermentation takes place in stainless steel tanks at controlled temperatures.
Ageing
The wine ages on the lees in stainless steel tanks for at least 2 months, then continues to age in bottle.
Tasting profile
Light and refreshing, with the classic character of Sauvignon Blanc and an original bouquet. The acidity is gentle.
Label / history
The estate's chief winemaker, Beppe Basi, has managed it for 10 years. The text spells the wine's name "Sobaya".
