About this wine
Vineyard and terroir
The fruit comes from 1 ha in Gattera, in the Annunziata area. The vineyard comprises a southeast-facing section at 250 m above sea level and a southwest-facing section at 240 m. The soils are calcareous clay, and the Nebbiolo plantings date from 1960 to 1995. Yields are 5.5–6.0 tonnes of grapes per hectare. Harvest takes place from early to mid-October.

Vinification
The grapes remain in contact with the skins for approximately 6–8 days in horizontal roto-fermenters. Alcoholic fermentation is then completed in stainless-steel tanks over approximately 10–15 days. Malolactic fermentation also takes place in stainless steel.
Ageing
The wine matures for 24 months in Slavonian oak barrels. It is bottled in July of the year preceding release and goes on sale in March of the fourth year after harvest.
