About this wine

Vineyard and terroir

The wine is made exclusively from a careful selection of Chardonnay grown in the Brolio vineyards.

Grapes

100% Chardonnay.

Vinification

The grapes were selected and picked by hand during the cool early hours of the day to preserve the freshness and acidity required for the sparkling-wine base. They underwent gentle pressing followed by fermentation in temperature-controlled stainless steel; the technical sheet specifies 16°C. The base wine remained on its fine lees until tirage in April 2021, building aromatic complexity, creaminess and volume.

Ageing

After bottling with the liqueur de tirage, the second fermentation was followed by 36 months of ageing on the lees. Disgorgement took place in April 2024. The bottles were topped with the same wine, with no dosage added, producing a pas dosé sparkling wine.

Technical data

Alcohol: 12.5% vol. Residual sugar: 2.73 g/L.

Tasting profile

Straw yellow. The nose offers bread crust, floral and citrus notes. Fine, elegant bubbles frame a savoury palate with lively acidity, creaminess and fullness. The finish is long and persistent.

Vintage notes

The 2020 winter was mild and relatively dry. Spring brought seasonally average temperatures and limited rainfall, followed by a hot, sunny summer with very little rain. Careful vineyard and soil management prevented vegetative stress. Cooler nights around harvest supported healthy ripening and an expressive aromatic profile.
